I know that in the days leading up to J6, Twitter users were tagging both @jack and the FBI and reporting individual tweets. I’d like to know how many reports Twitter got. And FB.

Twitter and other social media platforms have reporting features for individual tweets and accounts but that is insufficient when it comes to coordinated inauthentic propaganda / psyops. E.g., if I report an individual account or tweet for posting “locked and loaded,” Twitter will reply that it doesn’t violate Twitter’s policies. However, what if hundreds of thousands of accounts are also tweeting “locked and loaded” or messaging the same violent rhetoric about an even like J6?

Pro democracy countries need to work together quickly to develop regulations for social media platforms and message boards to prevent online cults, coordinated inauthentic propaganda, terrorist cells, psyops. Social media platforms profit off the very type of content that led to J6. They are not going to police or regulate themselves willingly, or if they do, it will be the bare minimum.

Maybe it's coincidence, but since I posted this video there, Twitter has become almost unusable. Almost everything I do gets a "something went wrong" "try again" message

I saw a video on Twitter in September 2020 of a Proud Boy, dressed in tactical gear, holding an AR15, announcing they were going to attack State Houses on election night if the Democrats won.

It was clear from the polls at the time that the Dems were going to win.

Then in the Presidential debate Trump said “stand back stand by” so they postponed their attack.

Regarding the word “gimp”: there is actually an open-source program somewhat like Photoshop (but free) named “GIMP”. One of my Twitter friends used the word to refer to the program and got a temporary suspension for her troubles. The program actually has a Twitter account (@GIMP_Official). She mentioned that in her appeal, but it went nowhere.

You could tell a similar story around FaceBook and the 2016 election (and to a lesser extent, now).
