Paul Whelan has accumulated 4 citizenry nationalities: The United States, The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada. A bit suspicious.
At the time of arrest, Paul Whelan had US $80,000 in confiscated cash and had obtained a USB drive containing classified information on employees of a security firm. The likelihood was that it was a firm that was competing with BorgWarner, Whelan’s employer at the time. One idea was that the firm was Kelly Services, Whelan’s predecessor in employment.
Paul Whelan had simultaneously provided information and FSB alliances with Ilya Yatsenko. Both helped organize the wedding reception of a Marine on December 22; followed by an unusual move by Whelan to spend the next days alone prior to his December 28 arrest.

Based on what is known, Paul Whelan was involved in free agency intelligence gatherings. Not beholden to one or a few government agencies. Yet when I see Paul Whelan after this information has been revealed, I see Vladimir Putin, Gen. Michael Flynn, and their lieutenants right behind him pulling the strings. So, should Paul Whelan be released and sent back home? Again, it is for them to know and for us to find out. Personally, were I in a position of leadership, I would say let Paul Whelan live in the predicament he is now in. Star Wars mythology is truly fitting to our current battles because of its nexus to psychological warfare - that sci-fi fantasy is truly meant to symbolically depict Wars in inner space not outer space, psychological battles. Musk and many others are using social media as an informational/ psychological weapon to exact Russian style neofascist predatory kleptocracy. As such, Star Wars is potent shorthand, myth that has already been cast by better angels, ideas and beliefs about good and evil that live within nearly all of us, subconsciously helping to guide away from fascism and other dominating psychologies.
The power of myth, belief and religion is impossible to overstate.
